Legend: Filip Fediuk

We really hope that, just like us, you liked our recent entries about the legends that circulate about places located close to our apartments in Polanica Zdrój. This time, we have for you a story about a mysterious, but also an extraordinary man who lived in areas very close to our accommodation. Here is the story of a certain inhabitant of Kłodzko, only a dozen or so kilometers away from Polanica, where you can relax using our accommodation offer:

Many years ago, near Kłodzko lived a man whose abilities were unimaginable. The townspeople openly said that he could predict the future. His name was Filip Fediuk, he was born - according to one version - in Ukraine in 1907. He was supposed to appear in Lower Silesia in 1945. From an early age he was involved in herbal medicine and fortune telling. Supposedly, he could diagnose diseases better than doctors.

Incredible abilities, for Filip also meant a huge burden - especially for his psyche. As he himself said, he often saw things he would rather not see. The clairvoyant, aware of his supernatural abilities, despised people who came to him with problems of not the highest rank. What he hated the most was contact with people who visited him in order to learn how to get big money.

The old man enjoyed a good reputation among the inhabitants. Instead, before his death, he shared a dark prophecy about an alchemist who was burned at the stake in the Middle Ages for practicing unconventional solutions. Accused of using magic, before his death he cursed the inhabitants of the city saying "The end of the city will come when the wolf drinks water." In 1997, there was the flood of the century - an inconspicuous river with great force smashed the levee and flooded the entire city. In Kłodzko, traces of this event can still be seen today - among others, they can be seen on the tenement house, which is decorated with the already famous wolf with its tongue out.
